Polar Racking has successfully completed its second installation in Nova Scotia. The Chocolate Lake Recreation Center’s bathroom facility holds the province’s first PRR Flush Mount Racking installation.

The main facility will feature a PR2 Flat Roof System coming in the first quarter of 2016. Solar Global Solutions is responsible for the design and construction of this system in partnership with Doctor Solar supplying the installation.

Halifax Regional Municipality launched the Solar City program in March of 2015, offering citizens solar energy options that can be financed through a solar collector account with the HRM. Homeowners can expect a Return on Investment (ROI) of approximately 5% on average over 25 years.

The Solar City program is committed to establishing 450 installations annually of varying solar technologies including solar hot water, solar thermal and solar photovoltaic systems.

Solar installations using Polar Racking help facilitate Nova Scotia’s strides in the solar industry versus traditional coal power plants and other fossil-fuel based electricity.
